Fed up of inaction from the Brazilian authorities, the Ka’apor Indian tribe of Amazonian warriors have captured, tied-up and stripped loggers – it seems these loggers were illegally destroying their land in the Brazilian rainforest news.sky.com.
Incidentally, the Ka'apor Indians along with four other tribes, are the legal inhabitants and caretakers of the Alto Turiacu Indian territory in the Amazonian basin.
In a bid to control the illegal logging, they have been dispatching their warriors to expel all loggers and set up monitoring camps in the areas illegally exploited. These warriors have also set fire to the trucks of the loggers and have used chainsaws to ruin the logs they found. Later, they later released the loggers.,br> It seems the Brazilian authorities have reportedly broken up a criminal organization which was believed to be the single "biggest destroyer" of the rainforest. As per the Brazilian police, the gang was responsible for $222m of damage and are facing charges of forgery, conspiracy, money laundering, tax invasion, theft and environmental crimes.
