US Police have killed two persons daily in first 5-months of the year

The United States has seen two deaths daily by the police during the first five months of the current year – the total number of people who have fallen to police bullets is at least 385. The shocking part is that the rate of fatal killings maintained by the federal government over the past decade is officially is incomplete.
This has been reported in nzherald.co.nz dated 1 June 2015.
Jim Bueermann, a former police chief and president of the Washington-based Police Foundation, a non-profit body dedicated to improving law enforcement has cautioned that reduction in the number of police shootings will not reduce unless there is a method to accurately track this information.
Interestingly, while half the victims were white, the other half was the minority. However, among the unarmed victims, two-thirds were black or Hispanic. At a rough estimate, blacks were killed at three times the rate of whites or other minorities.
Other facts - more than 80 per cent of victims were armed with potentially lethal objects, primarily guns, but also knives, machetes, revving vehicles and, in one case, a nail gun. Against this, forty-nine people had no weapon, and the guns wielded by 13 others turned out to be toys.
As to the age of victims – they were aged from 16 to 83 and eight were younger than 18.
